As a member of the African Cities Program, Conakry developed a city diagnostic and action plan building a strategic vision based on the key idea of reorganizing urban development. The vision is based on three pillars to create a healthy, safe and open city: protecting natural resources with a sustainable management of urban sanitation, developing urban safety, and promoting the local economy.
The UMDF and the AfDB are engaged in supporting preparatory studies to design a global urban development plan, paving the way for well targeted investments.
