As a member of the African Cities Program, Libreville developed a city diagnostic and action plan building a strategic vision to solve the increasing mobility problems generated by rapid urbanization. One priority is to reduce transportation time and improve safety and accessibility for basic services for the people of Greater Libreville. The aim of local authorities is to improve the level of road service, traffic management, and the public transport network, as well as stimulating soft mobility.
The UMDF and the AfDB are engaged in supporting preparatory studies to design a global urban development plan, paving the way for well targeted investments.
